Pat Jordan Band: Bio

Pat Jordan

it started in a smoke-filled garage in northern california. it started at the beach, by a lake, and in living rooms and backyards. it started... with pat.

pat grew up in a large and loving family. his house was (and still is) a home; always filled with friends who found it to be a welcoming environment. a home away from home. it was in this house, surrounded by those who knew him best and loved him most, that pat began to play.

at first he played what he knew. artists he connected with, and songs that challenged or touched him... or both. it's often frustrating to teach yourself how to play guitar, and there were times when it looked as though he might give up. he didn't. over time, pat started to build confidence, and realize his potential as a guitarist, and a writer. in the beginning there were brief glimpses of something raw and unrefined, yet powerful. these moments would appear, and quickly pass, but eventually developed into vivid and lasting periods of beautiful and honest music. pat was beginning to show us the singer-songwriter he had become... or always was.

as he started to write and follow the path that has lead him to where he is today, he became dissatisfied with his songs rarely escaping the walls of his garage, and his circle of friends. pat needed a band. knowing what he wanted, and what he needed, it took some time and experimentation for him to put together a band. a team of other musicians that would compliment his musical style, and more importantly, his personality. with the blazing beats and complex rhythms of drummer steve toomey, and the subtle yet strong grooves provided by bassist justin bordessa, the pat jordan band has found it's niche in the north bay, and has defined itself as the band to see. having built a solid following, and a faithful fanbase, the pat jordan band is poised for their inevitable explosion upon the national music scene.

it is every musician's nightmare to have someone attempt to describe their sound... understanding this, it makes most sense to be brief. a pat jordan band concert is more than just music. it's more than just a good time. it's seeing, and getting to know a man with a guitar. hearing his words, finding his melodies, and letting it take you over.

also? it's about getting drunk.

Justin Bordessa

Justin was born in Santa Rosa, California on December 13th, 1977. Although always an avid music listener, it wasn't until the age of seventeen that he bought his first musical instrument, which happened to be an electric bass. For the following few years, it sat in the corner of his room only to be played a couple of hours a week.
Shortly after hitting the legal drinking age, the love of his life left for college and the two decided it was best to let things go. It was at this point that Justin found inspiration to pursue the bass guitar more seriously.
Beginning his studies with local bass prodigy Luis Garcia, and spending plenty of time locked up in his room playing with drum machines and metronomes, he became increasingly fond of his new found love.
In the following years Justin began to study jazz improve, guitar, piano, percussion, and other areas of music theory and technique. He began jamming with other musicians and joined a band that broke up after playing together for a year.
Now, as the bassist for the Pat Jordan Band,
Justin has been able to apply what he has been so passionate about for years at every rehearsal and show, continuing to grow as a musician.
When not pursuing his musical aspirations,
Justin work as a dental hygienist, rides mountain bikes, runs, enjoys good beers and wines, and immerses himself in the northern Caliornia way of life .

Steve Toomey

Steve was born to a musical family in Healdsburg, CA. His father has been in live concert production all his life and his mother was a singer in multiple rock bands in the northern california area during the sixties and seventies.

While its not totally clear when or how Steve found his calling as a drummer one thing is known for sure, he lives it. Every waking moment of his life revolves around his passion for drumming. A self taught drummer for most of his life he has recently studied under such talented drummers as Vic Carberry and Deen Castronovo. When asked, Steve cites his biggest musical influences as Led Zepplin and Parliament. When he isnt performing live Steve is almost always in his workshop building drums for his company norcal drumworks.

Over the years Steve has played in various bands around sonoma county but finally feels like he has found his niche and his family in the Pat Jordan Band.

Dallas Jones

Dallas was born back in 1979 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was still a youngin’ when his family moved to Santa Rosa in 1981, and has been here ever since. Dallas started to play the harmonica at just 16, but didn’t really give it much attention until he was 21. He taught himself to play, but is still learning, and will always be. He’s inspired by harmonica greats like Charlie Musselwhite, Mark Hummel, and Kim Wilson. By day, Dallas is a steel framer with the local 751 and commutes to San Francisco every day. It’s on those drives that Dallas often passes the time jamming out on the harmonica. According to Dallas, the best part of playing is getting the crowd moving, and he still gets a rush every time he takes the stage.
